Ahmedabad Plane Crash Update: Report Update

️ The Tragedy That Shook India

On June 12, 2025, tragedy struck when Air India Flight AI-171, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner en route from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, crashed shortly after takeoff. The aircraft plunged into the BJ Medical College hostel in Ahmedabad, leading to 260 confirmed deaths, including 241 people on board and 19 on the ground. Only 1 passenger survived.

🧪 Preliminary Crash Report Released

India's Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) submitted its preliminary findings on July 8, 2025. The report revealed shocking details:

Both fuel supply switches were turned off within seconds after takeoff.

Both engines failed due to loss of fuel supply—causing a flameout.

Pilots issued a MAYDAY call just 26 seconds after liftoff.

No signs of bird strike, mechanical failure, or external sabotage.

Cockpit voice recordings captured one pilot questioning the other:
"Did you just shut off the fuel switches?"

Experts are investigating whether this was accidental pilot error or something more deliberate.

🔍 International Team Aiding the Probe

Experts from Boeing, GE Aviation, and the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are collaborating with India’s AAIB.

The final investigation report is expected by end of July 2025.
